slacker
That’d be me, but it’s the holidays - so there’s a reasonable excuse. Working today and then it’s off to the beach with family to ring in 2011. It is good to be home. Here’s to a memorable New Years :)
that phase
…in life where one job will soon end and another begins. Do you take a leap and do something you think you might really enjoy or stick with something comfortable but also potentially fulfilling? I’m feeling leap-y…
christmas highlights
christmas eve at the howell’s * evening church service * bursting into tears from exhaustion over dinner…that’s kind of funny now, right? * christmas morning snow * the 4 hr drive to h’burg that felt like 12…it’s been an entire yr since i’ve been home * the annual comment from my mom about losing presents she hid this year and finding ones from years past...
speaking of houses
A series of accents that I hope are present in our home one day, all found via crush cul de sac: something natural * something pretty * an interesting hallway * something cozy * traditional + leather accents * unexpected texture (really want this mirror) * and this exterior (one day) …for now, i love the idea of a possibly-too-small starter home for us, let’s hope the right one is...
christmas music
I think I may have OD’d on Christmas music during our five days of driving home. I realized that I haven’t listened to any so far this week and in just a matter of days, I won’t be allowed to for another year. So, that said, it’s on…again.
'twas the week of christmas
…and we’re looking for a house. House hunting officially begins tomorrow!
today i'm loving
sonic sprite with cherry (never had this before and my husband is obsessed) * crisp days, blue skies (today) * walking neighborhoods * comforts of home * white christmas (never seen this movie till last night - so great) * worn, old sweatshirts * laughing rather, at how late i’m doing all my christmas shopping * twentydaystillcruise * it’s christmas week…the best time of the...
what a trip
Five long days later, we are here in Alabama. I’ve been really happy being back close to home and loving being with family. Minus the car break-in in Sacramento, the trip was pretty great. We made an unplanned stop in Palm Springs for a day to relax in the sun and then continued on to Flagstaff, Albuquerque and then Fort Smith. We logged quite the miles and it was a good break to be on the...

Not blogging but posting pictures daily (link above). Two more days of this cross country adventure!
and it's happening
The ABF trailer has arrived, the movers will load up in 3 hours and then it will be on its way to the great state of Alabama. It’s my last day at the office and tonight will be some goodbye celebrating with friends. It doesn’t feel real and I’m wishing we had more time now. I had this feeling before when I moved from LA to Seattle…breaking down in tears somewhere along...
looking forward
to open roads * non-stop christmas music * gas station breaks * crossing state lines * seeing the largest _________ in the world in 1/2 mile to the right * retracing roads taken five years ago * suprises * sunsets * long phone conversations * time to think * being distracted by my immediate surroundings (and not the internet)
packing woes
We are surrounded by boxes. Although, I must say that having just moved two months ago (ouch) we kept lots in boxes and definitely made several drop offs at Goodwill. We had accumulated a good bit in our three level townhouse prior to our current single level, single bedroom apartment. It’s kind of nice to know that everything we own fits here…but I will be oh-so-happy to unload it for...
houses houses
Along with working some pretty long hours this week, I’ve spent more time than I can even comprehend looking at houses and we’re not even there yet. I actually made myself sick of it, which I never thought was possible. Word to the wise, unless required, don’t try to buy a house that you love so much over photos you’re afraid to possibly let someone else have it, all while...
